A delegation consisted of more than 60 teachers and students from the Software Department at Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKKU) visited SEIEE on 23 Feb, 2016. A welcome ceremony was held in room 3-200. Assistant Dean of SEIEE Prof. Yixin Ma, Dean of the School of Software Prof. Binyu Zang, Prof. Zhengwei Qi, teachers from SEIEE Youth League Committee and SEIEE student representatives attended the ceremony to show the hospitality from SEIEE.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome speech by Prof. Ma. She spoke highly of the visiting program between two schools, emphasizing that such cooperation functioned as a bridge successfully promoting the communications for many years and leading to fruitful achievements. In addition, she also presented audiences the development status and the highlights of international education of SEIEE, welcoming all SKKU students come and study at the school.
In the presentation given by Dean Chung Tai Myoung from the Software Department of SKKU, he showed gratitude to the warm reception by SEIEE and mentioned that this was a great opportunity for the students from both universities to learn from each other and broaden their horizons. Afterwards, student representatives from both sides delivered reports regarding the new achievements in their research areas respectively, receiving a warm response from audiences.
In order to further promote the cultural communications, talents cultivation, and research collaborations between two schools, and to celebrate the 120 Anniversary of SJTU, a MOU was signed by two sides, opening a new chapter of cooperation.
After the ceremony, the Korean delegation went for a campus tour guided by SEIEE teachers and students, visiting the botanical garden, Si Yuan Lake and main gates of the campus. Though it was still cold in early spring, students talked warmly and enthusiastically while the tour, deepening the brotherhood between two schools.
SKKU enjoying a long history of over 600 years is one of the oldest universities in Korea. As a highly internationalized and comprehensive university, SKKU keeps close relationship with Samsung and other hi-tech companies. This bilateral communication program has lasted for four years, and was held by the Youth League Committee of SEIEE.
