On the afternoon of Nov. 28, “Humane SEIEE, Harmony family”---- the overwhelmingly first Cultural and Art Festival of SEIEE Faculty and Staff closing ceremony, together with “Love Our SEIEE, Sing Our Country”chorus competition was held in the multifunctional hall of Guangbiao Building. School leaders like SJTU Deputy Secretary of Party Committee PAN Guoli, SJTU chairman of Labor Union JIA Jinping, SJTU deputy chairman of Labor Union Zhangjie, School Office of the spiritual civilization Deputy Director Wang Linyuan,SJTU Faculty and Staff Chorus Director NI Jie, SJTU School of Agriculture and Biology Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and SJTU deputy chairman of Labor Union XIE Liping, ,SJTU Faculty and Staff Chorus Director CHEN Xiuzhu, SJTU Faculty and Staff Chorus Director WANG Lihua, and other SEIEE leaders showed up in the ceremony.

Kicked off with two songs “A La Mu Han” and “Teacher, the name of us all”, the atmosphere of ceremony in the hall soon was immediately warmed up.

Secretary Pan addressed first and showed high approval and praise of the festival in representative of school. In retrospect of the old days in SEIEE, he emotionally thanked all the faculty and staff in SEIEE.

     

A followed video taped pieces of time during the festival ignited applause and exclamation. Then in an impassioned address, SEIEE Secretary ZHANG Ansheng expressed his proud and gratification of the school’s achievement in culture and arts development, and his expectation for better performance.

The chorus competition came after Dean MAO Junfa’s beautiful reading of poet “Camel Bell” immediately. Lead by Department of Computer Science & Engineering’s “Tomorrow would be better”, and “Sing Our Mother Country”, dozens of meticulously prepared songs were showed in order. The colorful and wonderful chorus songs won cheering and bravo from time to time, and the final show “Shanghai Night” push the hot atmosphere to anther peak.  

 

 

 

 

 

The award ceremony came last, in which all the attendee, either group or personal, got opportunities for awards. The Department of Automation is the one that brought both the First Prize in chorus competition and the Best Organization Award.

 

 

Spectatorially grand ceremony finally dropped its curtain, yet no one felt enough of splendid songs and dances. However, we could see in the future, with all the efforts from everyone in SEIEE, there would be a better and warmer family.

This Cultural and Arts Festival demonstrated vigorous and colorful cultural life, cohesiveness and warmth beyond comparison.

The theme of this festival, “Humane SEIEE, Harmony family” was perfectly shown in various activities: vocal training baptized everyone in music, civilization training raised confidence in appearance, chorus competition resonated everyone with devotion to both school and mother country, acqierement performance demonstrated harmony, Penmanship, Photography & photography competition brought visual enjoyment.

There is no doubt that SEIEE would expand the characteristic tradition of “people oriented, science-and-art co-working” to serve the school and country with more positive attitude.
