From August 31 to September 1st,2013, School of electronic information and electrical engineering held the summer working conference in discipline construction  of 2013. SJTU Party Secretary Ma Dexiu attended the meeting and made an important speech, the vice Party Secretary and vice president Zhang Ansheng, the department leaders of planning office, 985 / 211 project office, graduate school, dean’s office, office of research management and human resources department  also attended the meeting. The plenary was presided by SEIEE Dean Mao Junfa and Party Secretary Su Zengyue.

On the afternoon of August 31, Dean Mao Junfa first made a speech titled "deepening reform, forge ahead, building world-class electrical discipline", he  introduced the present situation and achievements of the comprehensive reform of SEIEE, and put forward ideas and initiatives over the next five years to deepen reform at the existing problems. The leaders of Information technology and Electrical Engineering Research Institute, each Department(Center), School of microelectronics, School of Information Security Engineering, School of software, and the AEMD platform each made a report about work plan in the future five years. The participants lively discussed and communicated around the College discipline construction.

On the morning of September 1st, all the members of the school leadership team deeply analysis of the ideas and measures on development in the future. Party Secretary Su Yuezeng made a concluding speech, he pointed out that reform will affect the situation as a whole, and at the same time , discipline construction is a systematic project. Therefore he called on everyone to deepen the reforms to seize the strategic opportunity to concentrate on discipline construction and development, and to create innovative mechanisms to develop.

Party Secretary Ma Dexiu made an important speech on the meeting as well, she pointed out that SEIEE plays an very important role in the development of SJTU, the reforms in SEIEE should be comprehensive, systematic and forward-looking . When talking about the further development of SEIEE, she put forward three proposals, the first is to continue to increase the reform efforts in SEIEE, seriously study the development orientation and pay more attention to the cultivation and introduction of leading talents; the second is to optimize the discipline construction, look for a new engine for the further growth, improve quality and innovate collaboratively; the last is to emphasize on promoting the agglomerate effect of the teachers, everyone should seek unity in thinking, work together and forge ahead. Finally, Ma Dexiu hope everyone could continue to be in high spirits, unite with one heart and one mind, try our best to maximum energy in our respective fields with passion and dreams, as soon as possible to make SJTU as one of the top universities. On the meeting, vice Party Secretary and vice president Zhang Ansheng gave everyone "cross Proverbs "affectionately: meditation, cohesion, concision, encouragement, courage.
